Cream Cheese Coffee Cake

I always get up early.  During Spring Break, I had at least an hour every day before the bedlam began.  One morning, I decided to make coffee cake.  I thought I could get it mixed, baked and ready before anyone woke up.  That was totally not how it ended up.

Adzuki Honey Buns for Marxfoods

This breakfast treat is brought to you courtesy of the Marx Foods' "Beans for Breakfast" contest.  I was sent three bags of beans: adzuki, marrow and mayacoba (canary).  My challenge was to come up with an original breakfast recipe using said beans.

Banana Honey Oat Chocolate Chip Muffins

I was looking back over my recipes and found that every six months or so, I post a banana muffin of some sort.  Well, this is the last one, I promise (she says with fingers crossed behind her back).  However, if you want a double fudge banana muffin, a banana bran muffin, a whole wheat banana muffin, or to turn a banana coffee cake or pumpkin banana bread into a muffin, you have come to the right place.

Mediterranean Potato Tomato Bake: Holiday Recipes

Seriously, folks, this may just be the craziest blogging day of my life.  I have no less than three challenges posting today.  I can just hope this does not happen often.  First off, it's the 15th, so automatically it's Eating the Alphabet day.  Next, it's the third Thursday of the month, so it's my very own Improv Challenge day.  On top of that, it is almost St. Patrick's day, so it's Holiday Recipe Club day, too.  Now, add to that, the fact that I will be on a field trip with my Kindergartener for most of the day and who knows what things will run amok!  Honestly, I will be afraid to check my email by the time I get home.

Black Forest Oatmeal: Eating the Alphabet

It's Eating the Alphabet time and we are on letters C and D this month.  I chose cherries.   I had cranberries in the freezer and really was leaning toward making something with them,  I even thought of using cantaloupe.  Cherries seemed too safe and boring.  However, you probably haven't seen them like this before.

Cheese Cream Pie for Pi Day

This is the first year that all four of my sons are old enough and aware enough to notice that March 14th is Pi Day.  They even asked if I would make a pie to celebrate.  I am actually making a different pie than this one.  My posts are scheduled out a ways (knock on wood that that trend lasts), so this is a pie that already filled the poor wee ones.   (three of my boys are as tall or taller than me **hee hee**) (did I really just **hee hee?**)

Moroccan Stew

I am not sure which I am more happy about, this stew or the Pier 1 plate that I found at a thrift store for $1. I really love a bargain, but I also love a quick, delicious meal that is good for me, too!

Saucy Buffalo Chicken and Rice

My second son, The Thinker, loves hot sauces.  And salt.  He salts ham.  He puts hot sauce on macaroni and cheese.  Often, the cook gets her nose out of joint because he wants to put hot sauce on things that just don't deserve such harsh treatment.  However, I am nothing if not accommodating.    Hence this dish was created just for him.

Reeses Popcorn: Blog Swapping with the Lunatic

You are in for a real treat today, folks.  I am swapping blogs with Kim from Cravings of a Lunatic today.  It's a mutual, simultaneous guest blog, but that's harder to say three times fast while chewing gum, so we call it swapping blogs.

Baked Spaghetti : Crazy Cooking Challenge

It's Crazy Cooking Challenge time over at Mom's Crazy Cooking.  This month, Tina chose spaghetti.  Those of us participating had to find another blog with a recipe we wanted to try.  I am so glad that I have never posted baked spaghetti before so that I could do so now.  This is actually a favorite of ours, but somehow I never got around to posting it.  I found an almost identical recipe over at Sprinkled with Love.

Sauteed Apples (on Apple Bread Pudding)

Do you remember that Apple Strudel Bread that I made for Eating the Alphabet a few weeks ago?  Well, I promised you the recipe that the second loaf became and then I forgot.    I was looking through my "my pictures" file and realized I owed you a recipe!
