Maple Twists: Revisiting an Old Post

Do you make homemade donuts (doughnuts?)?  A few years ago, I would have said no.  I thought that there was no way I could produce anything like a donut shop.  After trying them, though, I found out that they aren't nearly as scary as I though.  Now, when my kids ask if they can have donuts the next day, I don't plan a quick trip to Walmart or Dunkin', I simply plan to get up a little earlier so I can set the yeast dough to rise.

I have previously only made these maple donuts as bars, but I got a little fancy and made twists this time.  I like the look a lot better and think I will stick to this style.  I had one rope left over and coiled it.  That turned out nicely, too.

Find the recipe here.

I love homemade donuts/doughnuts. I'm still confused with the right spelling. I love donuts (I'll use this spelling for now), especially home-made ones. That looks so yummy.
I might make some this weekend.

FABULOUS! I love donuts, but only make them as a treat...

Hubby loves maple bars and I've never made them. I think I may have to change that one!
