BBQ Style Pork Chops a la Paula Deen

This time, I followed a recipe exactly.  Shocking, I know.   The only thing I'd change if I make it again is the baking time.  My chops were a bit dry ~  but very tasty!  It is a good, quick recipe that can be thrown together and tossed in the oven so you can focus on other things.
Paula Deen's Barbecue-Style Pork Chops (from the Lady & Sons Savannah Country Cookbook)
6 pork chops
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 14.5 ounce can chopped tomatoes
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp prepared mustard
1/2 tsp salt
Brown pork chops in olive oil.  Place in a 9 X 13 pan.  Combine remaining ingredients and spoon over chops.
Bake 45 minutes (or less if done earlier!!) at 350 degrees.

I agree with Belinda... however, can I just say... OHMYGAWHD! Those look so good. You know... Salem is not too far from Salem Oregon. I could be there in like 5 hours... save one for me.

This looks really good-- at what temperature for 45 minutes? Thanks as always for all the great recipes--I have especially enjoyed the make-your-owns! (Now I just have to get around to making more of them... :)

oh boy these sound great...

chops are tough because recipes never talk about thickness. a 1/2 inch chop vrs a 2 inch chop has to cook different. If you have a remote prob thermometer, cook by internal temp will fix the problem of dried out.

I am impressed it's a Paula Deen recipe but doesn't have any butter! I have a hard time with pork chops too, I tend to overcook everything. They look great though, thanks!

I bet they stay tender and juicy cooked like this.

Sometimes the trick with pork is the thickness of the chops. It also helps to brine them for an hour or so before baking or frying them. Having said all that, your chops look and sound wonderful. Anything that looks that good is almost always delicious. I hope you are having a great day. Blessings...Mary
